How It Works
Can radiant floor heat realistically cover an entire house?
Yes. The key is planning each room as its own zone, sized to its heat load, and running all circuits back to a central manifold. That layout is what makes even heat across every room achievable rather than theoretical.
Will the floor height change noticeably after installation?
It can add height, but the amount depends on the tubing method, insulation underlayment thickness, and the final floor covering. Floor buildup is calculated per room before any work begins, so doorway clearances and transitions are confirmed upfront, not discovered after the fact.
Does radiant floor heat work in an older Colorado ranch-style home?
It does, but older homes often need more subfloor prep before tubing is placed. Subfloor condition is assessed first, and the tubing method -- staple-up, thinset embed, or sleeper -- is chosen based on what that specific floor can support.
What happens if I delay addressing uneven heat or cold floors?
Continuing with forced-air or spot heating through another Golden winter means the underlying problem -- poor heat distribution -- stays in place. Cold floors and drafty rooms also put more load on an existing system, which can shorten its service life.
What checks are done before the system is turned on?
Every loop is pressure-tested after tubing placement and before floor covering goes down. Zone valves and thermostat wiring are verified, and the system is brought up gradually at startup so each zone’s output is confirmed before the project is closed.
How disruptive is a whole-home installation in an occupied house?
